According to Parents magazine and Edmunds, Honda and Chevrolet vehicles are number one when it comes to 2018 family cars. The top four vehicles on the list are the 2018 Honda Odyssey and Accord, and the Chevrolet Traverse and Malibu.
Reports from senior analyst Brent Romans say that when it came to top cars, they were not playing favorites. All four vehicles are top safety scores according to NHTSA and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. With the both of these taken in to consideration, it was easier to narrow down the list.
Parents Magazine and Edmunds Name Honda and Chevrolet Number One
The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas large SUV was able to make the top 10 list as well. Making the list was significant for Volkswagen as it was their first large SUV ever in production. Romans says that it was smart of Volkswagen to pay attention to the market and what people wanted out of an SUV. Making their SUV big is a great way to keep the interest of large families. There are three rows of seats in the Atlas and it can seat seven to eight.
Roman says that the vehicle’s interior is upscale. Roomy cabins, substantial seating capacity, and cargo space were all taken into consideration when Parents Magazine and the experts and Edmunds were choosing the top contenders. Edmund’s ratings were considered by judges. According to Romans, the online car shopping site rates over 300 cars every year. In order to be a winner, the cars’ rating had to be 4 out of 5. Afterward, Parents magazine judges then would install child safety seats. Then, they would conduct rigorous testing to choose the top winners.
The Honda Accord won for sedans because of their new design and how pleasant it was to drive. The Chevrolet Malibu was a top contender due to it’s phenomenal touch-screen interface.
